Things I think about on the way to work

I was sitting opposite a man on the tube this morning who was wearing one of those jackets that’s all pockets and toggles and Velcro (I think they might be for sailing or some such activity). On the sleeve was a pocket marked “Security Pocket”. What, pray tell, is the point of that? Is it that it’s so secure you wouldn’t be able to find it without the sign? Or was it designed by a criminal who wanted to draw all pickpockets in the area’s attention to where you’re hiding your valuables? And if it is for sailing, so your stuff doesn’t fall in the water, then surely all the pockets should be security pockets? Plus, if that’s the case, then, much like 4x4s in London, you shouldn’t be allowed to wear it on the tube.
